Rajnikant Sharma received a B.E. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, India, in 2003, an M.E. degree in aerospace engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, in 2005, and a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering in 2011 from the Brigham Young University, Provo, UT. He was an assistant professor in the electrical and computer engineering department at Utah State University, Logan, Utah, from 2013 to 2016. From 2011 to 2013, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Academy Center for UAS Research, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado. From 2005 to 2007, he was a scientist B at the Center for Airborne Systems, Defense Research and Development Organization, Ministry of Defense, Bangalore, India.

His primary research interest is guidance, navigation, and control of unmanned aerial vehicles and multiple vehicle coordination, control, and localization. He is an IEEE, ION member, and an AIAA Associate Fellow.
